Go Share! Romans Road

Go Share (Romans Road)

I am so excited about GO SHARE! This is our summer campaign for June, July and August where I am challenging you to Go Share Christ. Everyone has a story (testimony) on how Jesus changed their life, so let’s Go Share it! We were all told to go out and share the Gospel and be ready at all times: 1 Peter 3:15 (ESV) “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”.

Many times, individuals are not quite sure how to share their story, so I want to help you with a few tips. There should be a passion about what Jesus has done for you.  If there is not, then I recommend taking some time and reflecting on who Jesus is in your life and how He has changed your life. There should be a passion that He saved you, sanctified you and calls you His child.  You do not want your love ones nor anyone else to go to hell.

The most important part of sharing is to tell others your story (testimony).  It is who you are! It should have passion, love and excitement for what Jesus has done for you.  It is not about reciting and reading the bible to someone, it is about YOUR STORY! After you share your story, there is a great chance, if they do not already know Jesus, that they will want to know Him. This is your opportunity to share the ROMANS ROAD.  The Romans Road is a journey of salvation, which guides you through a specific list of scriptures allowing you to lead an individual to the Lord.  Let’s take this journey together.

Romans 3:23 (ESV)for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:10 (ESV)as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;

These scriptures are used not to point out that they alone are a sinner but ALL of us are sinners.  There is never a point in time you should focus on someone’s sins without realizing we ALL have sinned.  They probably already feel isolated, but it is comforting that we are all experiencing the same things.  You and I have sinned and fall short.  Make sure to include yourself.  Why, because it is truth!

Romans 5:12 (ESV)Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—

This is a perfect time to introduce Jesus.  The one on whom God laid all of our iniquity (Isa. 53:6).  How He (Jesus) paid the price for us.  Moreover, purchasing us as His own

(1 Cor. 6:20). He took the beating and paid what we owed in full, so we may have life.

Romans 6:23 (ESV)For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 1:20 (ESV)For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 5:8 (ESV)but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Here we continue the journey to identify what is sin.  Sin is death, which is not literally death as we know it of our physical bodies, but the separation from God.  Since we are sinners, God gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16) as a free gift for those who choose to believe in Him.  We are all sinners and still sin, but in God’s unconditional love, His son died for you and me, so we may live in eternity with Him.

Romans 10:9–10 (ESV)because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Romans 10:13 (ESV)For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 5:1 (ESV)Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:1 (ESV)There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:38–39 (ESV)For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Make sure to explain, that this is an incredible gift, which is FREE.  All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.  There is nothing else you need to do!  You cannot receive it through works nor can you purchase it. It is about confessing and believing, then living the rest of your life for Christ.  This is the Good News! Likewise, explain how everyone who calls upon the Lord will be saved and how all sin will be forgiven.  There is not a scale like those we have in our society, where one sin is greater than the other.  No matter what you have done you are saved.  Remember, God said if you sin in one area you have sinned in all (James 2:10). There is now no condemnation for those who believe.  The is liberating to know that I am forgiven and saved.  Therefore, since God sees you as a new creation, it is important that you do as well.  Know that you are saved and are a new person.  Start living a life for Christ.

Make sure to invite them to church, so they can experience the love and passion that you receive from church as well.

Equally important, you may utilize additional scripture that might not be in Romans.  For example, John 3:16 and 2 Cor. 5:21.

I want to make sure I am very clear.  We are all in the same boat, trying to get to the same place, which is heaven.  So, this is not about isolating or condemning anyone but leading them with love to know and receive Christ just as Holy Spirit would do, in love.
